LONDON OLYMPICS 2012

So any song that samples something other than a generic drum machine will pique my curiosity. For the official London Olympics 2012 producer Mark Ronson sampled various sounds of sports from the clicks of a table tennis rally to the bounce of a gymnast hitting the vault. Titled "Anywhere in the World" and expected to be released March 13th, the single features vocals by UK songstress Katy B.

Here is a 2-minute clip with the video showcasing the Move to the Beat project and the athletes that provided the beats.

And a 128k sample of the single HERE.

You can pre-order the single on iTunes HERE.

On a side not, how weird is the London 2012 logo???

And in contrast, how awesome is the 2012 Olympic Torch?

The torch was designed by BarberOsgerby and features 8000 perforations to represent the 8000 torch bearer.

AlunaGeorge

This girl-boy duo, Aluna Francis & George Reid, are stirring up the London scene with their latest single You Know You Like It. Aluna's voice delivers the R&B glam while George produces the grime and bass.

My favourite remix is by UK Garage veterans B-15 Project.

Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture Printemps Été 2012

Sharp and chiseled yet wondrously fluid - definitely my favourite show from Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture. (To be honest all the other shows were very disappointing.) That last dress is so heavy the model had to have two men supporting her as she walked.

He cited sculptures by Michel Deverne as the inspiration for this collection.
